Two awards, two stories

Archie Griffin

2008 and 2004 Awards of Excellence

Two awards, two stories

In 1974, Archie Griffin won his first Heisman Trophy. Amazingly, he duplicated this feat the following year by winning the prestigious award again. Today, Archie's record of winning two Heisman Trophies remains intact.

In 2002 the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) awarded The Motorists Insurance Group its Award of Excellence (company of the year). In 2008, the PIA bestowed this same honor on The Motorists Insurance Group for a second time. Motorists is the only company to receive the Award of Excellence twice. We are honored to share "the only two-time winner" status with our respected board member and corporate advertising spokesman.

What it means to policyholders
The PIA is a national trade association that represents member insurance agents and their employees. Recognition from the PIA means that policyholders and agents can rest assured that Motorists is working to be the best choice for agents and policyholders. It means that when an independent agent who represents Motorists recommends one of our insurance products, it's reassurance that you’re getting quality insurance backed by a company that will here when you need us.
